My, but how the days fly by!
I hope you're having a lovely week. After a whole lot of rain and cloud here last week, we've been out enjoying the sunshine these last few days.
Now, I promised last week to share with you some of the creative projects I've been working on, didn't I? I'm afraid there hasn't been a great deal of crafting since Lulu's arrival, but now that I feel we're starting to settle into a bit more of a routine, I'm really looking forward to sinking my teeth into some new projects in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, though, here's some of what I have done during the last couple of months:
Some new skirts for mama: two wrap skirts and two elasticized, to accommodate the, ahem, post-baby waistline..
The top ones are the Versatile Wrap Skirt by Make It Perfect (see here), and the last two are New Look 6943, View A. (I added the contrasting panel at the bottom of these, to make them a little more interesting).
All are in Heather Bailey fabrics - I love her colours and designs; I can't get enough of them! I feel so terribly cheery wearing these lovely, bright florals in the middle of winter. I'm also really wanting to make some more wrap skirts very soon, but in a much longer length.
Hhmm, and what to do with the remnants left over from my skirt-making?
Why, make Lulu her first pairs of mama-made pants, of course!
She has a few pairs now. The red ones were the first I made, but I love, love, love the little yellow paisley ones; they're my absolute favourites!
I feel so very happy seeing her in her mama-made pants. My heart just sings every time I put them on her. I think, of everything I have ever made, these simple little daks are giving me the most joy..
The pattern is taken from Kwik Sew's Sewing For Baby (at Amazon here). I'm so glad I bought this book! It has master patterns for a whole range of babywear, in four sizes, with really easy-to-follow instructions and variations for each. These little pants sewed up in about fifteen minutes; I actually made them in between settling Lulu to sleep for the night.
And, by the way, just look at my clever girl in that last photo - she's nearly rolling over onto her tummy! Any day now; I have the camera at the ready to catch it when it happens!!
So, that's pretty much all the sewing I have done. There has been a bit more crafting of a different nature, but that will have to wait for my next post.
Wherever you are, wishing you some sunshine today!
