I feel very strongly about getting my little girl out into nature.
I really hope to instill in her a great love and reverence for the earth, it's creatures, and it's wild places. I want her to grow up feeling that she is a part of it all - the sunshine and fresh air, the trees and birds and seasons.. The sacred circle of Life.
And so, as often as we can, we escape the bustle and noise of the city, and retreat to either the bush or the beach. Even if only for an hour or two! We're kinda lucky here, as we don't have to travel far from where we live in order to do so.
Though she is not yet five months old, I think Lulu already really enjoys the sensory experience - feeling the different textures of leaves, flowers, and sand; hearing birds calling or waves crashing, feeling the wind, or the warmth of sunlight on her skin (not too much!); and seeing all the different colours and plays of light amongst the trees or on the water..
These are images taken on today's nature walk, which we enjoyed with two lovely friends and their gorgeous bubbas. The weather was just perfect, and we had such a nice time!
(Um, in case you were wondering: no, the ants aren't real! They're the work of some creatively inspired bod, set in place there for children to enjoy. We have plenty of creepy-crawlies here in Australia, but thankfully none that large *S*).
Hope you enjoyed a wonderful day, too!
